COVID-19 SAFTEY PLAN

Hello parents,

I just wanted to assure everyone that the Matilda Summer Program is still on. Please register if you are interested! We are monitoring what the state is doing regarding Covid-19 closely and have planned out the following steps.

While the state is still in phase 2, we will continue everything virtually. We will be holding virtual auditions on May 27th and 28th. Please register for the program and then go to the website to sign up for your virtual audition time.

We will also have rehearsals virtually as long as we remain in phase 2. We would like to set up the virtual rehearsals in small groups so we can cater more individual attention to each participant. Rehearsal times will be set up once we have our final registration count and casting completed. With that being said, if there is a virtual rehearsal block that doesn't work for you, we will be flexible in finding a different rehearsal block for you.

Once the state moves to phase 3, we will continue virtual rehearsal and have the option to rehearse in small groups with no more than 10 people. All in person rehearsals will require wearing a mask and social distancing. We will continue virtual rehearsals as much as possible and evaluate daily how progress is going.

Come phase 4, we will hold in person rehearsals, still in smaller groups of no more than 50. For the performance, we will limit the number of ticket sales and add additional shows to accommodate the audience as needed. We have talked to the school and they are willing to push our show date further into August or September if necessary.

If phase 3 extends past that window, and we are unable to move into phase 4 by show time, we will record scene by scene at the high school. A full set will be built and we will record in small groups of no more than 10 at a time. We will then virtually piece the performance together to produce a full show. The virtual show will be given at no charge to parents.

If for some reason we are stuck in phase 2 from now until the show, we will do everything completely virtually. This will be done by recording virtual groups, individual cast members and then piecing everything together for the final performance. This will also be given at no charge to parents.

We will do everything we can to accommodate everyone and to make a safe, fun, positive experience for the kids this summer. If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to me at theatredirectors@lisleparkdistrict.org. We hope to see your kids this summer.

The show must go on!

Thank you!

Dominique Nadeau
